Chilly morning, a latte and leftover pizza. That means I have time to cook a new dev log.
Seems the last post was making the rounds! Now people think the game is done and all I have to do is make the text look chinese. Lemme remind you all that I still have to make environments look pretty, tweak balance, bug fix, revise the script, and, and…
Actually, that last part has been my focus lately. The game itself has beats that feel right, but as a “unified whole” it lacked a certain consistency. Like, I’ve been taking so long with this project, I feel there’s three different versions of myself fighting to be heard, and I had to choose which “kiri” has the most accurate vision of what .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND is in order to keep things moving forward.
Anyway, I’m happy people are so hyped. I’m doing my best to figure out a proper release date within the next month or two, even if there’s always a chance of the game needing more time in the oven than expected.

Not a whole else to report other than what I just wrote. The programmer has been refactoring and cleaning up a bunch of code to make the game more stable and easier to debug. I’ve been working on polishing the game’s script mostly, though this week I’ll start work cutting a draft for a new trailer and apply tweaks to the second chapter, which is the weakest at the moment after a play testing session we had. I also need to keep reviewing additional art and music being made for all sorts of places inside the game.
There’s so much to do still! But it’s all fun. I only felt overwhelmed by the script revision, and once the difficult part was done life became way less heavy. I can breath once again.
Extra observation: I think the game has taken an unexpected but really cool direction when it comes to the pacing and mood. I’ll explain what I mean in a postmortem (if I remember to do so), but it’s clear that I started the game with a certain energy in mind, and in trying to get there, a new color was born. Any new adjustments I make should take this cool new vibe in mind instead of forcing a “scale” that isn’t there anymore.
Never forget: Style is born from the attempt! I love what 45pb turned into.
That should be all for now.
PS: Before I forget, you should play this new game I made with a friend. It’s called A Short Story from The Guts, available now on itch.io! Had a lotta fun trying a new type of art style and tools.

Makina has to grow up, but what’s the point of that?
She could just be someone’s pet.
This was part of a game jam organized for our discord server. Give the rest of the games a try—they all bang and fuck hard, so please check them out!
